All those months of hard work have come down to these final seven days. Just a few loose ends to tie up and you’ll be tying the knot. Here are the last few things you should do to wrap up the wedding planning.
Collect Wedding Dress & Bridesmaids’ Dresses
It’s time to make one final trip to the seamstress and give the dress one last look over. Once you see everything is perfect, you can finally bring it home with you. If your bridesmaids are available, they should go pick up their dresses in person too—especially if they have had significant alterations made. From here, the least stressful option is to have everyone bring home—and be responsible for—their dress.
Confirm Final Guest Count with Venue & Caterer
With one week left, you should have heard back from pretty much everyone you’re going to hear back from. Get in touch with your caterer and venue to give them the final number. If there has been a dramatic increase or decrease since the last time you talked, you might need to brainstorm a solution or two. Just talk it through, and you'll be good to go!
Make Final Payments
Signing those checks definitely isn't the most fun part of planning a wedding. But sending in that very last one is surely a highlight. Now that you have paid for everything, you can focus on the party. In one week, you'll see all of your hard work come to life and get to celebrate with the love of your life.
Share Wedding Day Schedule with Wedding Party
When coordinating possibly hundreds of people, sticking to a schedule can be tough. So, getting your wedding party on board and on track can be a huge help. Shoot them a typed-up schedule about a week before the big day, so they know what's going on. Print a few backup plans out, so everyone has easy access to it and won't always be asking "what’s the plan?”.
While it’s important to keep the day flowing smoothly and not to keep your guests waiting too long, don’t be too hard on yourself when it comes to sticking to the schedule. Some things happen in our days that can slow things down or speed things up. Just do your best to be in the moment and with everyone’s help, everything will be just fine.
