Another month closer, a million more things to plan. Things are really starting to come together for your wedding at this point and you get to start planning some of the fun details and conquering even bigger ones. Hang in there and use these tips to help get you to your big day!
Order Your Wedding Dress
One of the most exciting parts of wedding planning is saying “yes” to the dress. Once you’ve set your budget, gather friends and family for your fitting. Do some research beforehand and show up to the bridal store with some styles already in mind.
Once you’ve found the right dress, you’ll know. Just like you knew when you found the right one to spend forever with.
It’s important to pick a dress far in advanced because fittings and alterations can take months, and you want it to be perfect for your big day.
Choose Wedding Stationery
Once you have your wedding style and colors picked out, your stationery is next to be pieced together. You can play around with size and shape - scalloped edges anyone? - but keep in mind that straying from traditional envelope size could increase costs.
You can also add extra flourishes like metallic fonts. But remember, you most likely will carry this stationary design into the rest of your wedding paper (menus, programs, etc.) so choose something that works across a variety of materials and is budget-friendly.
Order Save-the-Date Cards
When it comes to what goes on the cards, keep in mind two things: legibility and clarity. You want people to be able to read the information and you also don’t want to overwhelm them with information. Short and sweet is always best!
Printing your save the dates can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on how intricate they are so plan ahead so guests can have enough time to mark your big day on their calendar.
Before ordering, triple check that the information on there is correct. An error could mean more money out of your pocket or the tumultuous task of relaying the correct information to everyone.
Block-Book Hotel Rooms for Guests
Blocking out hotel rooms is the best way to ensure you guests have a place to stay for your wedding and most hotels will also offer a discount when reserving such a large number of rooms.
When picking the hotel think about three things: location, amenities and price.
Ensure that the hotel is close to any and all venues that guests will need to be at for the wedding. It may also be nice to have a hotel with amenities like a gym, pool or breakfast for guests to enjoy, especially if they are going to have some downtime.
Lastly, price. Having your loved ones be able to share in your big day is truly something special. Choosing a hotel that everyone can afford is a vital part of ensuring everyone who wants to be there, can be.
